Professor Ed Lugo

I am a 47 year old Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt, Practitioner and Teacher, as well as a Brown Belt in Judo. I have been in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over 11 years with many highs and lows. Besides always trying to learn something new, I absolutely love sharing that knowledge with everyone around me. Nothing is more satisfying to me than watching a student "hit" that move you helped them teach. I have knowledge of most martial arts ranging from Japanese Karate to Korean Hapkido and everything in between, and I can say without a doubt that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is what everyone needs to learn! It is a blessing and honor to be able to teach this fine art.

Coach Ernie Morado

I am a second degree Purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Professor Edwin 'Maverick' Lugo. I have been involved in martial arts for over 19 years. I started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training at Ricardo Almeida BJJ, Carlson Gracie BJJ at Waukegan, Illinois, and also 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu at Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. I am a Navy veteran and have served campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan. Outside of Maverick BJJ, I voluntarily lead a martial arts ministry and surf.

Coach Elaine Stryker

I started martial arts with karate as a kid in the 1990s. I quickly grew to love the camaraderie and confidence and continued my journey with Judo in my 20s and then Brazilian Jiu Jitsu shortly after. I now hold a brown belt in Judo and am pursuing my purple belt in BJJ. I have 10 years of grappling experience and consider myself a long-life martial artist. I enjoy teaching just as much as practicing.
